Welcome to The Art of Acupuncture Center:

The ancient Chinese believed there is a universal life energy called Chi or Qi (pronounced chee), present in every living creature.

Qi, is the life force energy that runs in pathways across both the superficial and deep levels of the body. In a positive state of health these pathways are balanced with one another. However, our lives are full of stresses. Stress, whether long-term, short-term, physical or emotional can easily throw the pathways of Qi out of balance, which can result in undesirable symptoms and illnesses.

For example: stress in a marriage can result in persistent migraines and insomnia, perhaps a long-term illness could lead to depression which can further complicate the initial issue. Sometimes disconnect with one\\\'s job may result in persistent fatigue or anxiety. Physical stresses such as over working in a gym or even jogging can result in muscle spasm, back pain, and sore knees.

The body has an extraordinary ability for healing itself. However, if the stress is too great or if the body is already in a deficient state, it may take a longer time to heal, causing a constant distressing symptom, which will lead to a chronic condition.

Acupuncture, with the insertion of fine needles can stimulate specific points on the meridians to move the Chi energy, influence physiological functioning of the body and balance the yin and the yang.

Many people, including myself, have found Traditional Chinese methods of healing to be excellent tools for maintaining optimum health and preventing illness.
